We caught up with Didi Simelane as he battles to get paid by Cassper Nyovest, who continues to flaunt his flashy life style on social media and continues to plan his Fill Up Moses Mabhida Stadium. Didi runs us through how he ended up in this situation with Cassper…
“We had been working throughout the year, working on his videos, the first time we worked together I told him the price and he was happy. He paid me 50% and I weren’t really working on contract because we didn’t have any of these problems.
I did Baby Girl, He really liked the clothes, I told him ‘I can do the art direction, the models get a nice look so it’s not just rapper’s clothes but we telling a story’, afterwards I got back to him and tell he needs to pay me but he responded ‘Eish bro right now I have fill FNB coming up'”
Cassper went on to promise the work on Fill Up FNB to Didi but didn’t pay him for the video before or the work on Fill Up FNB. Didi researched and sourced a R15,000 lion’s skin from Durban, that Cassper requested, he received the money for the skin but not for his travel, accommodation or fees.
“I sent him an invoice, he didn’t reply to me, I had to follow up. He started running around, running away from me.”
Didi then consulted a lawyer as it was clear Cassper didn’t want to pay him, after sending the lawyers letter Cassper sent a message saying ‘Ah, I just got a letter from your lawyers, so you wanna take it this route? aight let’s take it this route. I’m telling you I don’t have the money.’ But he is still living a flashy life telling Didi, ‘Don’t be brainwashed by Instagram, all these things are not real’.
Cassper and his team are moving on with life, promoting Moses Mabhida show, so Didi told him “If you don’t pay me my money by this date, I will speak to a journalist, he didn’t pay so I went to the Sunday World. The journalist even called him and said he was an arrogant dude and said ‘no comment'”
Cassper still owes Did R60,000, he hasn’t responded to any lawyers letters.
