Everyone’s favourite guy to hate AKA started off strong this year with the release of a new collaboration with Anatii; a song that’s been months in the pipeline. AKA and Anatii released their second collaboration together entitled ’10 Fingers’,which looks to follow right in the footsteps of their last project together, ‘Saga’. AKA + Patoranking Collborate for ‘Special Fi Mi’

On Friday, Coke Studios launched the visuals for ‘Special Fi Mi’, a collaboration from two musical heavyweights who are currently making waves in the African music scene – Nigerian dancehall and reggae artist Patoranking hooked up with South African hip hop king AKA to produce a lyrical celebration of the infatuation in a newly found romance. Meaning ‘special for me’, the track inspired a sweaty night as you are enthused through the different genres of music creatively amalgamated together. In the early hours of this morning AKA released a new single entitled ‘Dreamwork’, the first official single release by AKA since the release of his single ‘Baddest’ in 2015 which was the most played song on radio in South Africa and won numerous awards, such as 2 Metro FM Music Awards, and is still receiving award nominations today. New Music Video. AKA – #Composure

AKA followed up his last diss track ‘Composure’ with a fully fledged music video premiering on TRACE this week. The track dropped a month ago as part of his on-going beef with Cassper Nyovest, as the two have chosen to air their petty dirty laundry via Twitter and YouTube. Any publicity is good publicity, right? In the spirit of the track itself, the video is a little disappointing – featuring AKA rapping in front of a white backdrop – but at the end the day the man is taking ‘it back to the music’.
