We-are-awesome caught up with Dylan Eiland aka Le Castle Vania after his shows in South Africa, and asked him a few questions about his experience.
We-are-awesome: How did you find South African crowds different to the rest of the world?
Dylan Eiland: Honestly the crowds all over the world really aren’t so different from The US where I am from, to Mexico, Asia, Europe and Australia to Africa… there are cool kids every where that just want to party and get into this music and movement it’s rad to see that existing even in remote areas… one thing I can say about the SA fans is that they all seem very excited and ready to rage! I’m guessing you guys don’t get all that many international acts down there so when SA gets some cool acts down it seem like you guys are ready to give the party your all!
We-are-awesome: What was your favourite thing about South Africa? Relating to either of the gigs or something else that caught your eye.
Dylan Eiland: It’s hard to pick just one thing… the entire experience was such a pleasure… just getting to experience the cities of Cape Town and Johannesburg was so rad. It was also an honor to play in SA as Africa is the last inhabited continent that I had yet to dj on so it was a bit of a personal accomplishment for me. And then both parties were really packed and the energy of the crowds was so awesome so obviously it was super fun to play for them!
We-are-awesome: Would you recommend South Africa as a gigging destination for other international acts?
Dylan Eiland: Well going off of my answers above i’m sure you could guess that i would definitely recommend that other djs and musical artist make SA a destination on their future tours! the SA scene is blossoming and i think its only going to continue growing so long as you guys keep hosting parties like the ones i was fortunate enough to be apart of!
Thanks, Dylan, we hope to see you in South Africa again.
