American Apparel teamed up with photographer Ryan Marshall and his wife to bring you this very intimate maternity line. I think it’s great how personal and real the process of this campaign is. It deconstructs ideologies of the past and allows for natural processes, such as pregnancy, to be seen in a more attractive light.

you turn your mom into a monster. she gets acne. she gets piles. she gets FAT. she’s even moodier than usual. then you pop out and it costs me, your old man, a fucking arm and a leg. your ma gets the baby blues and turns mental. she refuses to go back to work. you’re in and out of the hospital every other week. mom’s tits forfeit form for function and even kegel exercises won’t shrink her vagina from the wizard’s sleeve that YOU turned it into. daddy can’t go out on weekends anymore. the only restaurant he can go to is Deer Park Cafe. all the young girls don’t look at him like they used to. you made him age. you turned him old. he had his whole life in front of him and you stole it. you’re just lucky that nobody sells wire coat-hangers anymore.
sho *dad… talk about a morbid veiw on new born babies…
